Divorce With Respect
A native of Northern California, Kamara received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy with a minor in Women's Studies from the University of California, Davis. She later completed a certification in Conflict Resolution from the UC Davis Extension Program and Mediation certification through California Lawyers for the Arts. She has maintained her real estate salesperson license since 2007. Kamara earned her Juris Doctor from Lincoln Law School of Sacramento.
While attending law school, Kamara served as President and Secretary of the Black Law Students Association (BLSA) and was a member of Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity, Asian Pacific American Law Student Association, and the Women's Justice Society. In those roles, Kamara organized two school supplies drives to benefit children and families in the Sacramento area and volunteered at various organizations in the Sacramento area.
Kamara was a member of the first certification training at the Sacramento Regional Family Justice Center when they opened in 2016, where she assisted people with obtaining domestic violence and elderly abuse restraining orders while providing trauma-informed care. While working there, Kamara developed a passion for advocating for people experiencing trauma and empowering them throughout the family law process.
Kamara has continued to pursue her interest in family law through prior employment at firms where she assisted self-represented individuals with drafting their divorce and custody documents and working on a variety of family law cases. She is a member of the Family Law Section for the California State Bar and Sacramento County Bar.
Outside of work, Kamara is an accomplished artist and avid reader who enjoys spending time with her family and friends, caring for her houseplant collection, and taking her dog for walks.
