Biography
Kenly grew up in Nevada City, California. She graduated from the University of Vermont with a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Genetics and Microbiology in May 2009. She then moved to Washington, D.C. to work in Disaster Response and Global Health Policy for roughly nine years. She furthered her education by receiving a master’s in public health from George Washington University in Washington D.C. in May 2019. It was during this time that Kenly realized her passion to end childhood trauma and bring a wholistic approach to the law.
Kenly attended and graduated from the Loyola College of Law in New Orleans, Louisiana. While in law school, Kenly found her passion in criminal and family law, specializing in ways she could bring public health initiatives into the law to reduce trauma. During law school, she interned with the Public Defenders office in New Orleans, writing different motions and attending court proceedings. She refined her writing skills when she assisted in writing a bill to improve the health of incarcerated women in Louisiana. Kenly furthered her oral advocacy skills when she competed in Trial competitions and was named Chair of the Trial Advocacy Program. She was honored by being indoctrinated into the Order of the Barristers and the Inn of Courts.
Kenly gained impactful family law experience as a student practitioner at Loyola’s Children’s Rights Clinic where she represented clients in custody and adoption matters. This solidified Kenly’s desire to work in family law and bring a wholistic approach to her litigation and collaborative skills.
